1890 Vinaccia Brothers Mandolin - 1E020

Rare mandolin constructed by the Vinaccia brothers in Naples in 1890.
-Beautiful casing formed with 29 staves in patterned maple and decorated with "bois de rose" border.
-Nice table in spruce with turtle-shell pickguard decorated with floral inserts in mother-of-pearl.
- Hole decorated with 'affogata' mother-of-pearl in ebony stucco. Encased mechanics in silver with 'palettine' in bone. The upper part of the 'paletta' has been restored where the half-moon which was once featured has now been replaced with a simple oval.
- The initials, probably of the buyer, are inserted in the front part of the 'paletta'.
